VIOLÊNCIA SIMBÓLICA E SUAS IMPLICAÇÕES NA EDUCAÇÃO

Resumo

O artigo aborda a questão da violência simbólica, refletindo sobre o conceito e sua prática no contexto escolar. Desse modo, a violência considerada não é o ato praticado no sentido da agressão física, mas a violência simbólica, que segundo o filósofo e sociólogo francês Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002), é o poder ou as relações de poder segundo o qual a ação pedagógica é objetivamente estruturada e que impõe um arbitrário cultural de um grupo de classe a outro. Nesse sentido, pretende-se, inicialmente, traçar um breve panorama do conceito de violência. Em seguida, toma-se como referência a abordagem sociológica de Bourdieu sobre a função da escola na sociedade capitalista e, por fim, promover uma reflexão acerca de práticas que disseminam valores preconcebidos e excludentes no contexto escolar.

Symbolic Violence And Its Implications In Education

Abstract: This article analyses the issue of symbolic violence, reflecting about the concept and its practice in school context. Thus, the considered violence is not the act performed towards physical aggression, but the symbolic violence, according to the French philosopher and sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002), is the power or the power relations which the pedagogical practice is objectively structured and imposes a cultural arbitrariness from a class group to another. Thus, it intends, initially, to set out a brief overview about the concept of violence. Then, it is taking the sociological approach from Pierre Bourdieu as a reference on the function of schools at the capitalist society and finally, to promote a reflection about practices that disseminate preconceived and excluding values in the school context.
