RICOEUR E A PERSPECTIVA ÉTICA: UMA RELEITURA DE ARISTÓTELES

Resumo

O artigo apresenta a interpretação de Ricoeur acerca da perspectiva ética aristotélica da “vida boa com e para os outros nas instituições justas” e tem como pano de fundo a discussão sobre o problema do “outro”. A vida boa representa a possibilidade que cada pessoa tem de ser tanto autora, quanto capaz de julgar racionalmente seus próprios atos. Seguindo Aristóteles, Ricoeur concorda que a vida boa necessita da amizade e da mutualidade, mas acrescenta também a solicitude. A solicitude surge da identificação com o outro sofredor, no momento de sua fraqueza, em que o si se permite afetar com o sofrimento do outro, garantindo uma autêntica reciprocidade entre ambos. No entanto, para garantir a vida boa com e para os outros, é necessário um princípio que vá além da solicitude: a justiça. Compete às instituições a aplicação da justiça, distribuindo vantagens e desvantagens entre todos como forma de garantir o equilíbrio da vida política.

Abstract

The article presents the interpretation by Ricoeur about Aristotelian ethical perspective of the “good life with and for others in just institutions” and has as background the discussion about the problem of “other”. The good life represents the possibility that each person has to be both author and able to judge his own acts rationally. Following Aristotle, Ricoeur agree that the good life need of the friendship and mutuality, but also adds the solicitude. The solicitude arises from identification with the sufferer other, at the moment of his weakness, in which the self allows himself to affect with suffering of the other, ensuring a genuine reciprocity between both. However, to ensure the good life with and for others, is need a principle that goes beyond the solicitude: justice. The scope of the institutions is the justice, distributing advantages and disadvantages among all in ensuring the harmony in political life.
