A FUNÇÃO DA LINGUAGEM E DA RAZÃO NA INSTAURAÇÃO DO ESTADO CIVIL EM THOMAS HOBBES

Resumo

A linguagem, quando afrontada com acuidade e arraigada na austeridade metódica, tende a gerir nos homens, por meio do cálculo, o entendimento adequado de determinado assunto ou, então, ao extremo do conhecimento, a geração da ciência. A ciência, conforme Hobbes, é um conhecimento essencial. Conhecimento este que é capaz de mostrar o conseqüente de determinado assunto, além da dependência de um fato em relação a outro. É frente esta constatação que entendemos o contrato social como uma saída dos homens da condição de sedição para a instauração do Estado Civil. O objetivo deste artigo é demonstrar como a linguagem e a razão, vinculadas, conduzem os homens à conclusão de que a instauração do Estado Civil é a melhor saída para a preservação própria.

ABSTRACT: The language, when confronted with acuity and rooted in the austerity methodical, tends to run in men, by calculating the proper understanding of a particular subject, or else the edge of knowledge, generation of science. Science, according to Hobbes, is an essential knowledge. This knowledge is able to show the consequent of a given subject, besides the dependence of one fact over another. It is against this finding that we understand the social contract as a condition of the output of men with sedition for the establishment of the Civil State. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how language and reason, linked, lead men to the conclusion that the establishment of the State Civil is the best outlet for self-preservation.
