O PROBLEMA DA RELIGIÃO EM THOMAS HOBBES

Resumo

A religião é, sem dúvida, uma das esferas mais fascinantes da existência humana, ora por sua própria função (religar o homem ao criador), ora por sua instrumentalização como fonte de poder e dominação do homem pelo próprio homem. Tal elucubração permeia a história da humanidade e exige dos mais distintos pensadores respostas convincentes. Thomas Hobbes não fugiu à labuta intelectual e desenvolveu considerações aceitáveis a essa inquietação. Não obstante às inúmeras interpretações da obra de Hobbes em torno da religião, defendemos que ela assume papel capital na criação e na manutenção do Estado como fonte do poder absoluto.

The Religious Problem In Thomas Hobbes

Abstract: Religion is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating areas of human existence, sometimes by their own function (reconnect man to the creator), now in its instrumentalization as a source of power and domination of man by man. Such profundity permeates the history of humanity and requires the most distinguished thinkers convincing answers. Thomas Hobbes did not flee to intellectual toil and developed acceptable considerations to this concern. Despite the numerous interpretations of Hobbes around religion, we argue that it assumes major role in the creation and maintenance of the state as a source of absolute power.
