CAIM E ABEL: O DIFÍCIL CAMINHO DA FRATERNIDADE

Resumo

Este artigo tem por objetivo refletir sobre a realidade da fraternidade. Tem como fio condutor uma proposta exegética da perícope de Gn 4, 1-16, que narra a história dos irmãos Caim e Abel, a partir da qual propõe uma leitura sobre nossa situação hodierna, na qual se pode diagnosticar uma crise do sentido da fraternidade. Ao mesmo tempo, quer enfatizar que esta realidade, ainda que difícil em sua concretização, desde as origens, como evoca a narrativa bíblica, revela-se particularmente necessária à realização de toda pessoa humana, enquanto correspondência ao projeto divino para a humanidade: toda pessoa que nasce no mundo é irmão (ã), por ter a mesma origem, Deus. Busca, por fim, apresentar os caminhos de construção da fraternidade, uma vez que ela não é um mero dado da natureza, mas sim um projeto ético, dos mais laboriosos. O desafio que emerge destas páginas, portanto, não é o de ser irmão, mas sim o de esforçar-se constantemente para ‘tornar-se’ um irmão; algo que Caim não conseguiu realizar.

Cain and Abel: The Hard Way The Brotherhood

Abstract: This article aims to reflect about the reality of brotherhood. It has as central thread an exegetical pericope of Genesis 4: 1-16, which tells the story of the brothers Cain and Abel and from which it proposes an interpretation of our present situation, in which we could diagnose a crisis of meaning of brotherhood. At the same time, it will be emphasizing this reality - even if it is difficult in its implementation - from its origins as the biblical narrative evokes; it is particularly necessary for the achievement of every human person, while it corresponds to the divine plan for humanity: every person who was born in the world is a brother (sister), having the same origin, God. At last, the paper searches the most up-to-date means to build fraternity, since it is not merely a fact of nature, but an ethical project, and the most laborious one. The challenge that emerges from these pages, therefore, is not to be a brother, but to strive constantly to become a brother; something that Cain could not do.
